Underwhelmed ~ April 2026

Experimenting again with subject. My backgrounds were really starting to bother me. I was struggling to make smooth and consistent backgrounds, free of splotches and water marks. A lot of my focus up until this point was focused on things that weren't painting. I struggled to get a finished canvas in the state I enjoyed. They all seemed to wrinkle so much that I didn't like the presentation. So I was soaking each canvas before hand and stapling down on to gator board and drying before starting a painting. I was really fighting the paper at this point in my journey.
